Flint, Michigan Water Crisis
Non-Profit shirts designed to raise funds for the Flint, Mi. Water Crisis. The design plays on the double meaning of new wave, first in relation to water as that is the main concern for the shirt. Second, "new wave" comes from the Joy Division album cover created by Peter Saville, in which he considers them to be the new wave, the next big thing. I wanted to state that the new wave (my generation) has the responsibility of helping the community receive their basic human needs of water.
The abstract design and the direct call out to the city create a conversation on the topics of the necessity of equal and fair care for all people no matter the demographic. Through the conversation, one can find ways they can help or continue to spread awareness of the inequality in basic needs that exist in America.
$500 was donated to the Flint United Ways Fund.
